Mesquite: Rodeo Capital of Texas

Mesquite, Texas is a vibrant suburban city located east of Dallas. Founded in 1878, Mesquite was discovered on land along the Texas & Pacific Railway and is named after Mesquite Creek. The city also features numerous must-visit attractions, including Celebration Station, John Bunker Sands Wetland Center, Florence Ranch Homestead, and Palos Verdes Lake Park. As a unique suburb, Mesquite boasts its own airport, Mesquite Metro Airport, and is home to major institutions like the United Parcel Service, AT&T, Eastfield College, and the Texas A&M University-Commerce Mesquite Metroplex Center. Interestingly, the city is also known as the Rodeo Capital of Texas attracting huge crowds to events like the Mesquite Championship Rodeo.
